A Memorable Trip to Farnborough

We at LA NET made our way down to the South Coast Summit 2025, held at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre. As one of the UK’s largest Microsoft technology conferences, it brought together Microsoft MVPs, partners, and cloud professionals to share best practices across Azure, Modern Work, Business Applications and Security.

For us, it was far more than an event — it was a chance to reconnect with the Microsoft community, showcase our Azure Managed Services, and have some great conversations about the future of cloud governance and optimisation.

Why We Exhibited

At LA NET we’ve been helping customers modernise their IT operations through cost-efficient and secure Azure cloud solutions, aligned to the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF).

Exhibiting at South Coast Summit gave us the opportunity to:

  • Demonstrate how our Managed Services build on CAF governance, management, and operational pillars.

  • Engage with organisations ready to move beyond “lift and shift” and into truly managed, optimised Azure environments.

  • Discuss real-world challenges like cost management, security posture drift, and compliance blind spots.

The conversations we had at our stand reaffirmed that managed services are not just about support — they’re about partnership, accountability, and helping businesses evolve safely and efficiently in the cloud.

Our talk – “Are there gremlins in your Azure environment?”

A major highlight was our session “Are there gremlins in your Azure environment?” presented by Mitesh Chauhan and Adam Simnett. The talk explored the hidden issues that quietly weaken many cloud environments — from identity creep and network exposure to posture drift and compliance gaps.

We walked through:

  • The Gremlins: Unused resources, excessive admin permissions, unprotected data, or unmonitored networks.

  • The Impact: Higher risk, data exposure, unnecessary costs, and operational inefficiencies.

  • The Remedies: Apply CAF principles, enable continuous monitoring, enforce policies, review access regularly, and embrace a managed-service model for long-term stability.

Attendees appreciated that achieving a 100 % secure score isn’t the point — it’s about continuous governance and proactive improvement. That’s exactly what our Azure Managed Services deliver: automated controls, human oversight, and constant refinement.

Learning from the experts

Jack Tracey’s “Azure Landing Zone + Subscription Vending + Azure Verified Modules == The Perfect Azure Journey”

Azure Landing Zones Jack Tracey

Another standout session for us was delivered by Jack Tracey from Microsoft: “Azure Landing Zone + Subscription Vending + Azure Verified Modules == The Perfect Azure Journey.”

Jack demonstrated how enterprise-scale Azure environments can now be deployed faster and more consistently by combining Landing Zones, automated Subscription Vending, and Azure Verified Modules (AVMs). The message was clear — automation, governance, and modular infrastructure are the key to scalable success.

We particularly liked three points:

  • Landing Zones form the blueprint for governance and security from day one.

  • Subscription Vending automates environment creation with the correct policies and RBAC already in place.

  • AVMs ensure deployments use Microsoft-approved, compliant modules for repeatable, auditable builds.

For us at LA NET, it validated the approach we already take within our Azure Managed Services:

  • Building secure, policy-driven landing zones aligned to CAF.

  • Using automation to keep configuration consistent and compliant.

  • Continuously monitoring and optimising for performance and cost.

Jack’s insights showcased that Microsoft’s latest innovations align perfectly with our belief in a managed, well-governed Azure ecosystem — truly the perfect Azure journey.

The energy & networking

Beyond the technical content, South Coast Summit 2025 was about community. The expo floor buzzed with energy — Microsoft engineers, partners, and customers sharing success stories and lessons learned. We had engaging discussions about hybrid governance, FinOps, and the role of AI in managed services.

It was also great to connect with peers who share our passion for helping organisations make the most of their Azure investment. Events like this remind us that technology only delivers value when it’s connected to people and purpose.

What we’ll take forward

We returned from the summit inspired and full of ideas for how to enhance our managed service model even further. Our biggest takeaways were:

  • Managed Services are evolving: Businesses want proactive management and strategic insight, not just ticket resolution.

  • CAF still matters: Governance and operational alignment remain at the heart of every successful cloud environment.

  • Automation is key: Tools like AVMs and Policy-as-Code will continue to simplify enterprise-scale deployments.

  • Community drives progress: Learning from others keeps us sharp and customer-focused.

These insights are already shaping new service tiers and governance frameworks we’ll be rolling out in 2026.

A Big Thank You

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand, attended our session, and shared their experiences. And of course, a huge thank you to the organisers of South Coast Summit 2025 for hosting such a well-run, inspiring event.

If you missed us at the summit, or if you’d like to continue the conversation about Azure Managed Services, CAF governance, or cloud optimisation, we’d love to hear from you.
