The new Microsoft Surface Pro 8 announced today, has some nice updates! We think it’s worth considering if you have an older Surface Pro, especially older than a Pro 7 and are looking for the same form factor.
Microsoft Surface Pro 8 Specs & Comparison to Pro 7
Some of the highlights of the Surface Pro 8 compared to the Surface Pro 7 to call out are :-
- 11th Gen Intel Core™ processor (Was 10th Gen on Pro 7 and 11 on Pro 7+)
- 13″ PixelSense Flow touch screen (Was 12.3″)
- 16 Hour Battery Life (was 10.5 hours)
- 2 x USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports (Was 1 USB A and one C)
- 120 Hz refresh rate (up from 60)
- Slim Pen 2 which tucks into the new Signature keyboard
- Weight without keyboard – 889 g (was 775-790g)
- 3.5mm Headphone jack
- Kickstand that adjusts nearly 180 degrees
Microsoft Surface Pro 8 Conclusion
Our favourite features are the 13″, 120Hz screen and the 16 Hour battery life. We think these alone will make a big difference out in the real world, especially for those on the go. The stats suggest it is slightly heavier which may or may not be noticeable. We like the look of the device and we can’t wait to get our hands on one. It is looking like a release date of October 29th 2021.
The Thunderbolt 4 support should provide a lot of future proofing too for things like dual 4K monitor outputs when used with a suitable dock.
Thanks for visiting and let us know what you think of the Microsoft Surface Pro 8.
We are not a reseller of these devices, just big fans of it !
